The PPS-43 (Russian: Пистолет-пулемёт Судаева) is a submachine gun chambered in 7.62×25mm Tokarev, developed by Alexei Sudayev as an alternative to the PPSh-41 with lower manufacturing cost and lower rate of fire. The gun has open-bolt blowback mechanism, predominant sheet metal parts, a pistol grip, and a top-folded stock. The magazines of both weapons are not interchangeable.
