The G-suit is an inflatable lower-body compress worn by jet fighter pilots over their flight suit. It was found that, especially with the increase in speed and power of the jet engine, high-G maneuvers could result in a pilot's blood pooling in their lower extremeties, starving the pilot's brain of oxygen and causing them to blackout.
