A dessert consisting of dark chocolate, cream, and eggs whisked together, poured into a sweetened, crispy pastry shell, and baked until firm. Because of its egg-based filling, it is considered a type of custard tart. This dish is similar to chocolate mousse, but the baking process gives the chocolate tart a firmer texture.
